I don't know why you hate free carry holders. Free carrying does not mean it has no value. A free carry share have the same value as a paid share, it has same rights and feels the same way in your portfolio when they rise or fall.
Yes to a person satisfaction, free carrying means less financial burden for holding but that does not mean he/she cannot sell the same any time he/she wishes.
So to me free carrying is as good as invested equity and only difference is free carrying person is smarter and did his decisions right. So we should learn from them about the game of investing than to criticize them.
By the way most of the institutional investors use the same policy in investing.
