Haven't seen many serious cyclones make landfall in Queensland for the past many years.

In 2007, over 17 years ago, a cyclone did threaten Hervey Bay, but veered off due to K'gari giving protection.

In the 1970's cyclones caused significant damage to the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast. None since.
