“The thing is most stuff out there isn’t Afamelanotide but ‘Melanotan 2’ - a different molecule with a different mechanism of action and a different half life. “

That’s true, most of the stuff being sold online outside of reputable compounding pharmacy’s is the infamous and maligned “barbie drug” MT2, but these two drugs/ “molecules” are very much similar from what I understand.

Is it correct to say that it’s a “different mechanism of action” or is it something else that allegedly causes MT2 to have a more potent effect on melanocytes ?

Whether it’s 1 or 2, they both at some stage stimulate copious amounts of **100% natural** eumelanin and it’s this extraordinary endogenous pigment (not whether it’s MT1 or 2) that’s providing all of the photo protective benefits?, (literally a bulletproof skin tan, natures perfected physical pigment barrier NON TOXIC sunscreen) so effective it enables light intolerant EPP patients to live a normal life outdoors in summertime sunlight, so Im assuming it would have the same reparative effect on a harsh sunburn……

It wouldn’t be that much of a stretch to assume that would it?
