Yeah, I thought the same thing. He knew exactly what he was saying, and now he's scrambling to backtrack. Either he really did invest more than $1 million of his own money and is now lying to downplay his losses, or he was lying back then to exaggerate his position. It could go either way, but the outcome's the same: he consistently lies about his situation, and only people who are deeply insecure do that.
I do love the the introduction of a potential Aston Martin purchase to the story though, that was a nice touch. The bloke's ego is the gift that just keeps on giving!
