High frequency algo trading isn't whats happening here.
As ive said before I've studied broker data of all the Li specs over six months and my observation was a particular broker was trading six of them. The nature of it was hundreds of small trades per day. In our case sometimes upwards of 1000 with the next under 100.
It's not high frequency algo trading it's manipulation in my opinion.
My take on it is they simply take them up/down to make money on their position with the aid of a bot to ensure the house wins.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if they use thematics to help such as chart patterns, sentiment, news flow etc.
