Yes and this isn’t BHP or similar where the big dogs are all over it, with it being difficult for say a single entity to “overcome” the trading actions of many other parties.
Afaict it is absolutely plausible that an entity could drive our price to “create the chart”, as you put it iirc, for example to drop the price through a support level to trigger retail/other TA traders to sell. And yes, even if that means allowing a retest and confirmation, or whatever other trigger the masses are looking for.
That sort of move would certainly be in the interests of someone with say 10 million shorts.
Our volume/value on the daily is often relatively low, and it therefore wouldn’t take much money to actually do this.
In both direction, btw.
