As I recall, Pinto, in the weeks following cyclone Tracy all estate agencies and corporate residential property companies working out of the Oz State capitals were contact by the Federal government requesting that they prioritize accommodation for the Darwin's refugees - additionally by forgoing the standard letting criteria due to their loss of supporting documents in the storm. Demonstrates how the rehousing problem cause by the cyclone, albeit temporary, when approached by the then government on a war footing, was a success. And as I've previously suggested, if the three tiers of governments were to employ a similar war footing stratagem to the current housing crisis, then we might still rescue the desperation of the homeless.
