Solid state batteries seem to be soaking up the research dollars because they are what battery and EV manufacturers see as the “next big thing”.
I am sure that this can / will change when the world learns how much more a Li-Ion battery is capable of when graphite is replaced proportionately by silicon (significantly more than 8 or 10%) or what a high-performance silicon anode is capable of and what advantages are associated with it.
