Data centres are a huge opportunity, i hope the company is actively pursuing a solution involving Akida in this space.
As of 2024, data centres consume approximately 1.5% of global electricity, amounting to around 415 terawatt-hours (TWh) annually.This consumption is projected to more than double by 2030, reaching about 945 TWh - equivalent to nearly 3% of global electricity use.
The surge is primarily driven by the rapid expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) applications and the growing demand for digital services.In the United States, data centres accounted for about 4.4% of total electricity consumption in 2023.
Projections indicate that this figure could rise to between 6.7% and 12% by 2028, largely due to the energy-intensive nature of AI workloads and the expansion of digital infrastructure. The Department of Energy's Energy.gov
