Are you oblivious to the FACT that even major mining companies engage external consultants to assist with diagnosis/investigation/assessment/design/etc of specific plant/equipment/processes???
The approach is simply taking the appropriate action to best resolve an issue, or address a need or problem, and balancing cost/resources/time etc…. and if that requires calling in others to assist who have very specific expertise relating to specific plant, equipment, systems, technology or materials, then so be it.
Again, stop embarrassing yourself by trying to equate engagement of external experts with them only taking “stabs in the dark”.
