What a load of bollocks. Every flow sheet is tailored to the specific concentrated brine chemical composition required to enter the chemical process which has had extensive metallurgical test work completed to prove the process.
For raw brine with high magnesium content, such as that from Rincon, various methods like slacking during evaporation can be used to reduce magnesium levels before processing. Many producers with raw brine containing moderate to high magnesium ratios use this method without significantly increasing operational costs.
