No offense taken mate but what you're referring to isn't 'the tape' as I know it, cause the tape is what I'm watching each and every day from 2:30am to 5am. Then I'll review stocks of interest post session.
Now we don't have 'ticker tape' anymore but what I watch is time, price, volume and net buying/selling so it's basically the same.
I solely watch ES and NQ when I'm trading but I took a peek at ALB, SQM and LIT and certainly didn't see any red flags before the asx session - but obviously these things aren't always telegraphed right before as the set up can be from many sessions prior to bigger moves.
I did watch the tape on PLS yesterday and it didn't look one bit inviting. Was hoping for some short covering and a bounce but it never appeared so I took the loss and moved on.
It may bounce Monday but what I was watching looked like lower lows are on their way (at least ST)...
AGY is currently in 'death by a thousand cuts' mode so hopefully holders have better things to focus on in their lives or else they'll go mad waiting.
