And the other thing worth noting with respect to delays is that if you go back and look at the actual reasons for timelines pushing out it was more to do with the refinement and changes to the trial design and not purely a slower rate of recruitment once it started. It's all well and good having a drug that does what it's designed to do. But if you can't design the trial properly and get the right patients on it then you've got no chance of success or getting it to market.
We're no longer doing 5mg and 10mg, as well as placebo. It's just the 10mg which we have more confidence is the right dose. This has allowed us to reduce the size from 330 patients to 220 and save a significant period of time for the duration of the trial. And we've also refined the primary endpoint to CDR-SB only. Which is the key for improving our probability of success using the ptau181 biomarker.
I personally think this delay was worth it to make sure we give ourselves the best chance of success in the end.
