GENERAL: AIA: AIAL Welcomes WGN Airport's reconsideration of future price

Auckland Airport welcomes Wellington Airport's reconsideration of future
prices
Auckland Airport welcomes the announcement from Wellington Airport that it
will review its charges in consultation with its airline customers.
Wellington Airport's decision follows a report on its pricing from the New
Zealand Commerce Commission that its charges were too high.
Adrian Littlewood, Auckland Airport's Chief Executive says, "It's great to
see that Wellington Airport has responded to the feedback it received from
the Commerce Commission earlier this year. This step by Wellington Airport
really does show that the regulation which monitors airport pricing,
established by Government in December 2010 is working in the interests of New
Zealand consumers."
The Commerce Act provides for detailed disclosure by airports of pricing and
operational performance which enables interested parties, and particularly
the Commerce Commission, to measure the performance of the airports against
the Commission's guidelines. The Commission has to date considered
Wellington and Auckland Airport's performance and is currently reviewing
Christchurch Airport.
