The question I have is that they have to produce a platform @40nm and prove that it works and the metrics match up and conform to 60nm.
It has been said that the issues of the 40nm platform has been resolved, but until we test again @40nm, we could be looking at greater problems before we even attempt to move down to 20nm. Shifting to lower geometries chucks up greater complexities that need to be overcome and jumping a step could put us back several years to resolve the issues.
The question I have is that they have to produce a platform...
