Chorus fixed line and broadband connections at 30 September
Chorus has today released its fixed line and broadband connection numbers as
at 30 September 2013.
Total fixed line connections declined by 6,000 lines over the three month
period from 30 June to 30 September to a total of 1,778,000 lines. Total
broadband connections increased by 23,000 to 1,135,000.
Fibre connections grew to 22,000 across Chorus' UFB and non-UFB network at 30
September. This included about 9,200 fibre connections within Chorus'
completed UFB network footprint. Chorus has now completed work to build the
UFB network past about 171,500 premises, bringing 226,000 end users within
reach of the network at 30 September. This includes 41,639 priority premises
(schools, hospitals and businesses), meaning 54% of priority premises are now
passed.
Chorus will next report connection numbers at its half year results in
February.
