There are so many variables and complex fedbacks that influence our complex climate system so that even if carbon-dioxide was a key factor (already suspect) it would do not any good from a "climate-control" perspective to control this one variable as the ongoing changes in other mass of variables will still cause your climate to change...

That is of course if this "fools errand" was actually anything to do with the climate...
