but the water is coming from somewhere... artesian bores which are the life-blood of farmers. The needs of the mines in the region are enormous. The impact will lower the water-table significantly and remove water that farmers can access - according to the EIS which was passed regardless of the needs farmers and the ancient wetlands.
As for no taxpayer funds, this wasn't for want of Adani trying to get Govt funding. They almost got it too... but for the efforts of many thousands of farmers applying pressure through the Qld LNP and the Lab Govt.
And of course you must be aware of Adani's history when it comes to Govt funds...
