NZR 29/09/2014 16:31 GENERAL REL: 1631 HRS The New Zealand Refining Company Limited GENERAL: NZR: Withdrawal of Strike Notice On 23 September 2014, the Company advised the market that we had been served with a Notice of Proposed Strike Action by members of First Union Inc. and The New Zealand Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union ("Unions"). The Unions have today agreed to withdraw the proposed strike notice and that they will seek a vote from their members to agree to issue no further such notice during the next five weeks. The Company and the Unions have agreed to enter into facilitative bargaining under the Employment Relations Act. The Company is pleased that the disruption that would have inevitably occurred through a strike has been averted for now and welcomes the opportunity to continue to negotiate in good faith to seek to resolve the dispute between the Unions and the Company. The Unions and the Company have agreed to make all efforts to resolve the matter within the next four weeks.
