Direct to Consumer Ecobulb LED Agency Agreements Awarded
Energy Mad has awarded four agency agreements to third party sales forces to
sell Ecobulb LEDs direct to consumers in New Zealand.
The four agency agreements were awarded in Auckland, the Bay of Plenty,
Wellington and Christchurch to former Energy Mad independent sales
contractors who had previously sold Ecobulb LEDs direct to consumers in these
regions.
Each of the agency holders has enlisted other former Energy Mad independent
sales contractors, with sales being achieved by demonstrating Energy Mad's
LED bulbs to consumers, and providing a personalized energy savings forecast
from replacing their old light bulbs with LEDs.
The demonstration and savings forecast are conducted on an Ipad based sales
tool that was developed by Energy Mad.
Prior to the scaling back of the Energy Mad's organizational structure that
was complete on 22 September 2014, the independently contracted sales staff
were supported by administration staff at a significant cost to Energy Mad,
Chief Executive Officer Paul Ravlich said.
"The new agency agreement means that the agency holder is paid a fee per
Ecobulb LED bulb or downlight they sell", he explained.
"They are using a sales model that requires little management and so can be
supported by Energy Mad's leaner organizational structure".
Energy Mad co-founder and Managing Director Chris Mardon said the agency
holders and their teams were proving to be particularly effective at selling
Energy Mad's new Ecobulb LED downlight.
The downlight uses only 9W of electricity and replaced up to 100W
incandescent and halogen downlights.
"Our LED downlight has a rated life of 40 years and with a low operating
temperature means that it can be covered with insulation".
"As well as saving up to 90% of the lighting electricity, being able to
insulate over the top reduces the heating energy in any room by up to two
thirds", he said.
