Yes, it is interesting how posters keep telling us how AOL has all this native copper. So here is an exert from:
"KPMG Independent mineral specialist report ? merger of
Vulcan Resources and Universal Resources
The supergene mineralisation at Roseby is somewhat unusual in that it is predominantly native copper, which is present in two forms; as native platy fine to occasionally coarse copper grains and as copper partly locked up in hydrobiotite crystal lattices. This latter mode of occurrence is
effectively non-recoverable through currently proposed processing methods, and contributes to the overall low metallurgical recoveries of 60% - 65% for the native copper ore. The native copper resources at Roseby contain little to no gold. "
Now this is quite different to the Rocklands Native copper which is mostly course native copper with a high recovery rate as was demonstrated by the detailed studies carried out by the company, they invested in excess of $4mil to get it right. This is now paying dividends(pardon the pun) in the processing plant that is being built to handle the coarse native copper.
AOL have a much more complex mineral to recover and NO gold credits to offset the costs.
I am therefore a little surprised that some try to compare the NCu at Rocklands with that at AOL. They are apples & oranges.
cheers
