Proactive Investor is effectively a PR organisation that is paid by companies to publish articles and sponsor investor information events on their behalf.

I really don't think you could classify them as an independant research provider.

I have registered to attend the briefing, but I don't expect to hear anything earth-shattering that night. Any announcements concerning the progress of testing and results will naturally be done through the normal ASX process.

I am somewhat encouraged that GDN have signed on for the presentation evening. Perhaps it indicates that they expect to have made a positive progress ann prior to that night and use the event to spruik it.
