China always say adequate supply of iron ore is China's national security. Just recently they admitted China's reliance of import iron ore is up to 90%. Now with the big boys ramp down the price, China's domestic iron ore mines are unable to survive. Why wouldn't they want to secure their own mines elsewhere? Citic was part of their plan to have their own supply, unfortunately it failed and failed badly.

Time will tell.
