GENERAL: VCT: Kapuni Gas
Vector Gas Limited and Vector Gas Contracts Limited have been issued with
proceedings in the Wellington High Court from Shell (Petroleum Mining)
Company Limited and Todd Petroleum Mining Company Limited (together the
Kapuni Mining Companies or KMCs).
The KMCs are seeking a declaration that Vector Gas Limited is obliged to
treat the KMC's share of gas from the Kapuni Field on the terms set by an
arbitration in 1999 for so long as the KMCs require their share of Kapuni Gas
to be treated, subject to there being processing capacity physically
available at the Kapuni Gas Treatment Plant. Vector is considering the
implications of these proceedings and taking legal advice. However, Vector
does not perceive any immediate practical impact of these proceedings on the
operation of its Kapuni Gas Treatment Plant.
