    Hi Toby,

    Those three bars are not UpThrusts.

    An Upthrust closes on or near the lows of the bar and usually confirms background weakness.

    There is a little one on your chart, right on the line marking April 18th, and the bar before it is No Demand (more or less, not perfect) and the one before that is another UpThrust, notice after the weak bars the SP then rolls over and falls away next bar, before finding strength again.

    Then if you look closely, five bars after the Upthrust on April 18th, there is a little Hidden UpThrust (it must be the 28th April), this is the same as a normal Upthrust but closes as a down bar instead of an up bar, the SP then rolled over again after that.

    Those bars are pushing up and either absorbing supply from the left (I cant see any on your chart, so you'll have to check that), or pushing up to distribute.
