If it sounds rational, there's a good chance it is rational. It's interesting to me that you try to take the moral high ground in this discussion, yet you're the only one that talks in support of using violence to achieve your ends. Strange hypocrisy, but not uncommon.
A useful tip, I have stuck to, is to work with the general assumption that people that criticise me (or something I'm associated with) are not necessarily interested in hatred or genocide. You could adopt a similar philosophy.
