ikeGPS Launches Spike Cloud Service
- New online service enables Spike photo measurement from desktop -
BROOMFIELD, CO --ikeGPS (NZX: IKE) announces that it has released a public
beta of online tools for Spike, a laser measurement solution.
Spike users can now export photos to the cloud-based Spike tools. Once the
photos are exported, users can view, edit, measure and download Spike photos
using an online browser on their desktop.
"The ability to measure either in the field with our mobile app or at the
office with our new online tools provides a capability our customers from all
industries have been requesting," says Corey Crawford, director of Spike
product management. "Spike's new online tools allow our customers more
flexibility; they can measure where and how it makes sense for their
business. These online tools also provide the potential for ikeGPS to
introduce new subscription-based business models to meet market
requirements."
While Spike users can still create measurements on the spot, the online tools
allow an estimating team to take the necessary pictures and then measure the
dimensions after returning to the office. This is especially convenient for
an estimating team that is booked with back-to-back appointments in the
field. If any measurement is missing, the estimating or design team can
easily remeasure the photo either online or using the mobile app whether in
the field or at the office.
In fact, Kyle Freeman, production and estimating manager of Waveland,
Mississippi-based Lightning Quick Signs, finds that Spike and its cloud-based
tools have completely changed how he conducts site surveys. If Freeman's day
is busy with field appointments, he can take the photos he needs and complete
his measurements on his desktop back at the office. However, when Freeman has
extra time to spend with his customers in the field, he can still take
measurements on-site. Ultimately, Freeman chooses how he wants to measure
based on his unique business demands and schedule.
"Our sales staff can easily take a photo while out in the field and either
upload the photo to the cloud to measure back at the office or measure on the
spot in front of the customer," Freeman says. "Since we first started using
Spike, we've been able to win more bids and bid on projects we may not have
been able to before. We use the measurements and photos to assess
installation, complete permitting applications and design mockups. Spike pays
for itself in less than one month. We've had so much success that we now have
three Spikes."
