To make sure with 100% confidence that they've broken something! Not 80% or 90% but 100%. They cant risk anything less because if they dont hammer it down now it will be a very difficult and drawn out process.
So instead of thinking "ok we are 80% sure the rate hikes are bringing down inflation hard so lets pause and see" they are saying (without actually saying it) "We are going to keep going until we break something so then there is zero doubt that the rate hikes are working".
I am net long at the moment for one reason only; i thought the brutal sell off was oversold in the short term and another bear market rally might have been due.
