"without natural affection" - depends how you interpret it, however my thoughts are that it is much broader than homosexuality.
This however certainly seems apt in our times, also from 2 Timothy:
"Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."
There seems to be a distinct lack of wisdom in our times, especially obvious amongst the political classes, in fact frighteningly so. No wonder there is so little respect for them - seems that in too many countries that the foxes have taken over the henhouse.
The world stands upside down and so, "the meek shall inherit the earth", makes perfect sense.
