GENERAL: ANB: Shayne Elliott to succeed Mike Smith as ANZ CEO

ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited's ultimate parent company, Australia and New
Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ), today announced that Shayne Elliott will
succeed Mike Smith as ANZ CEO on 1 January 2016.

Mr Smith will step down as ANZ CEO on 31 December 2015.

Mr Smith and Mr Elliott are directors of ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited.
