DIRECTOR: ANB: M Smith to resign as director of ANZ Bank New Zealand Ltd

ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited (ANZ New Zealand) announced today that Mike
Smith will resign as a director of ANZ New Zealand on 21 December 2015.

Following the resignation, ANZ New Zealand will continue to meet its
Conditions of Registration corporate governance requirements relating to
board size and composition.

Other ANZ New Zealand Directors are chairman John Judge, Tony Carter, Joan
Withers, Mark Verbiest, ANZ New Zealand CEO David Hisco, and Australia and
New Zealand Banking Group Limited CEO incumbent, Shayne Elliott.
