DIRECTOR: ANB: Appointment of Nigel Williams to ANZ Bank New Zealand Ltd

On 14 December 2015, ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited (ANZ NZ) filed an
announcement with the NZX (Announcement) confirming the appointment of Nigel
Williams to the ANZ NZ Board effective 14 December 2015.

The Reserve Bank has confirmed that it has no objection to the appointment of
Mr Williams as a director.

ANZ NZ's Announcement stated that the Reserve Bank approved the appointment
of Mr Williams, however, it should have stated that the Reserve Bank had no
objection to Mr Williams' appointment.
