Following the Government's announcement this morning, Defence have today released their 2020 Strategic Plan: https://www.defence.gov.au/StrategicUpdate-2020/docs/2020_Defence_Strategic_Update.pdf.
Of note is their commitment to 'increased investment in capabilities to respond to grey-zoneactivities, including improved situational awareness, cybercapabilities, electronic warfare and information operations'.... and... 'The Government will significantly increase investment in Defence’s space capabilities. This includes plans for a network of satellites to provide an independent and sovereign communications network and an enhanced space control program. The Government will continue investment in space situational awareness, including sensors and tracking systems.'
Further, Defence Minister Linda Reynolds will tomorrow will make a public address to expand on the announcements made today in regards to the 2020 Defence Strategic Update &2020 Force Structure Plan.When: 12:30pm-1:30pm, Thursday 2 July 2020
