2ic,
Your post "capitalise the gain, socialise the losses" is indeed not one of your best efforts.
In fact I find it crude and offensive and hardly fitting the respect I previously had for your opinion.
Most investors in Compass (myself included) relied on advice assumed to be both professional, independant and more importantly "accurate", in accordance with information released by the company, and more importantly accepted by respected analysts.
Quite clearly, (and with hindsight) the flow of information was not of the "integrity" required for an accurate assessment of "investment risk".
This is why investors are angry and seek to find answers from those who are paid highly for their respective skills.
This is not about a "speccy" going off the rails, it is quite clearly about the information given to the market and the respective decisions made by analysts and investors on the basis of what is often assumed to be accurate, reliable and up to date information.
Accurate info ???
Look at ABC, OZL etc, etc..... The list is nauseous, and many of these directors need to be destined for the "non recycling bin" to make investing safer for the average Aussie.
