(reporter talks of dysfunctional website, she went to medicvision not motopia, its this sort of confusion we will finally be rid of next week with the name change)
ADELAIDE mobile phone applications maker 2moro Mobile has been sold to a Melbourne company for $2.5 million.
The start-up company that began operations two years ago will become part of the Australian Securities Exchange-listed Medic Vision, soon to be renamed Motopia.
2moro Mobile chief executive Peter O'Neill said the company had been positioning itself for a sale for 12 months now and was pleased with the "reasonable offer".
"We've been a start-up operations for some time and have achieved a lot but the support of Motopia is going to help us both (Motopia and 2moro) expand."
2moro recently signed a contract with Microsoft to develop six gaming titles for its ZuneHD and Windows Phone7 devices.
Victorian company Medic Vision, or Motopia has recently stepped up its efforts in the digital space, though their website was dysfunctional this morning.
The company said 2moro's takeover was a "perfect acquisition at the perfect time" as the group unveils aggressive growth strategies.
It has acquired digital marketing and communications company cBox earlier this year and also owns mobile content development company mConnect Group.
mConnect chief executive Rob Hoath said: "2moro Mobile will be able to support our efforts by delivering high quality mobile apps and games to help promote and monetise our clients' brands on mobile channels".
It recently launched a new mobile platform - mOne - to allow users to have far greater control of their mobile advertising campaigns.
2moro mobile will operate as a subsidiary on a business as usual basis. Mr O'Neill will become an executive with the company, but is likely to take on a new role to ramp up one of Motopia's international offices.
