I agree with most of the sentiments expressed here but I have to point out that the first video was faked in my opinion. Foley was probably executed earlier. When this was openly discussed on the net the video was suddenly taken off youtube.
The reasoning is:
No profuse blood flow (it would have been very messy).
No sound from the neck wound (enough said).
No change in facial expression (almost impossible if he was alive at the time).
Side by side closeups showed that the person in the video had different cranial structure around the eyes and temple compared to Foley. The guy in the video looked more like me than Foley!
Now we have another live beheading and I can't even find it on the net this time, although it was a quick search early this morning before I went out. Just a lot of accusations from the usual culprits like CNN, Fox News etc. I'm not a twitter or facebook user so maybe I missed it. Does anyone have any links?
I'm not defending ISIS in any way, but can we prove that ISIS published the videos? Could some other group have published them to get support for a war?
For me, an important question remains, will NATO happen to cross into Syria and accidentally drop some bombs on Assad.
