Perhaps we might rally 10 points or so if overseas markets keep this up..
LONDON'S FTSE 100 index jumped more than 1.5 per cent when trading began today - the first trading day of 2011 - mirroring sharp gains by Frankfurt and Paris yesterday.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index soared 1.58 per cent to 5,993.01 points at the start. Frankfurt's DAX 30 dipped 0.14 per cent to 6,979.68 points and the Paris CAC 40 gained 0.18 per cent to 3,908.25.

The DAX had closed up 1.0 per cent yesterday while the CAC soared 2.5 per cent.
