    re: $3.00 it hurts Gominer, you still havent told us where the 7 billion is coming from?
    Who are their main competitors?
    What further trialling is required before they can enter the US, European and wealthy asian markets?

    Someone said Thoratec was their main potential competitor, well i hope not . because theyre flat out making a profit.

    VCR is now capitalised at one half "BILLION" dollars, and has put through a staggering number of "one" patients...

    Thoratec Corporation offers two complementary circulatory support product lines, the Thoratec Ventricular Assist Device system (Thoratec VAD system), an external device for short- to mid-term cardiac support, and the HeartMate Left Ventricular Assist system (HeartMate), an internal device for longer-term cardiac support. In addition to its cardiac assist products, the Company offers vascular access grafts used in hemodialysis for patients with end-stage renal disease. The Company is also developing a small-diameter access graft for use in coronary artery bypass graft surgery. In addition, the Company sells whole-blood coagulation testing equipment used in bedside anticoagulation management, coagulation screening and skin incision devices for the drawing of blood from adult, children and infant patients.

    Financial Summary
    Thoratec is engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and marketing of medical devices for circulatory support, vascular graft, blood coagulation and skin incision applications. For the six months ended 6/28/03, revenues rose 19% to $72.2 million. Net income totalled $2.4 million vs. a loss of $2.3M. Results reflect an increase in the number of VAD units sold, higher sales of graft products and blood coagulation testing equipment and restructuring credit.
