I understand what you are saying about the current over reaction, and I do not dispute that SBM is oversold......at the moment, my point is that a mine shutdown is not an unknown fear, it exists and it will only take one mine worker to test positive to close a mine.

FIFO workers are at a higher risk as they all vanish to different places on a regular basis and could bring the virus back to the mine. This has been acknowledged by management in many mines who have altered rosters to keep people onsite for longer periods of time. Therefore the possibility of a mine closure is something they are very well aware of and is a very real fear.
