Without trying to jinx this, looks like 2:40 this morning may have been the low.
Hopefully if gold retests it recent highs, after dipping below $1700US and the slightly disappointing quarterly, then we may see this back to $2.60 or so.
Maybe $3 needs to wait a while unfortunately.
