How will you feel tomorrow when your new investment drops when it goes ex div? A fully franked dividend is some consolation I suppose but it has to be squared with capital outlay.
If you like a regular payment you should review bank hybrids. They are complicated but they pay a set rate above the bank bill rate, and can be traded on the market at a premium to purchase price depending on their particular fundamentals. They are not spectacular but are a reliable income stream.
