Rio Tinto and the Kerry Stokes-controlled Iron Ore Holding are poised to sign a ground-breaking deal.
It is understood that the deal, which will be announced this morning, will see iron ore sell the ore from its tenements to Rio through what in effect amounts to a minegate offtake deal.
By doing so, Iron Ore will be able to overcome the challenge of developing its own costly infrastructure or the complexities of agreeing a rail haulage access deal with Rio.
