CFU built its plant in Germany due to the lack of support in Australia. Labor has slugged us with a carbon tax under the guise that it will create green jobs! Total BS, we will import more and more lightweight plastics from zero carbon cost countries like china.

The germans know how to support manufacturing and the aim to supply the world. CFU and the technology presented a real chance for Australia to get ahead and make a range of products in Australia for worldwide consumption, not just Australian demand. The govt gives billions to the carmakers just to supply the domestic market.
The govt should hang its head in shame, CFU is where the future lies and our manufacturing policy makers are blind to it. Let's keep subsidising cars and digging holes! After all, we are the China of minerals - the lowest cost producer! What do we plan to do when Africa takes that mantel? We will have lots of slag heaps, and no manufacturing jobs!
Guess our kids we will all have to learn chinese and start working in call centres selling dodgy funeral insurance to the millions of wealthy people living in China.
