Couldn't you easily just sell $30k of your holdings in the meantime before your shares are issued back to you? If the share price tanks back to $1.50 then you don't care because you sold at the current levels anyway. Obviously you risk the share price continuing to go up and then not being issued many shares in the SPP - but if someone is certain the price will drop then easy enough to capitalise on this.
And if someone doesn't have $30k in their holdings to do this then they weren't serious about this company to begin with.
