They could just be playing the arb mondo, in such a sh!tty market a couple percent probably isn't a bad return if funds aren't being used elsewhere. Personally I would like to see LNC get their hands on SXP (I hold LNC as well) but I feel a little ripped off at 72c a share.
On a side note, I reckon LNC is a fair bet in the lead up to the deal being finalised as they will want their share price as high as possible so they have to forfeit the least amount of shares to those who chose to take the shares over the cash.
