To be fair there are situations where the cfd's mimic the market, share consolidation, splits and freebie share issues, this is necessary otherwise the value would change dramatically and not reflect the true position. But the participation in the spp requires a further investment and would provide an opportunity for geared arbitrage and CFD providers are not keen to allow that as it would cost them.
For disclosure I am sitting on a small cfd holding at the moment with stops in place and a 7K profit, quite content to let it ride
