Nature of the business, the drillers should have a good guestimate in regards to grades and depth.
Experienced drillers can tell from looking at the ore. Smaples are taken ever so many meters and bagged for the lab.
I have seen a realy good video online with a driller in WA explaining the process as they where actually drilling. Ill try to find it.
