I don't think a takeover is on Greg Goodman's mind or anybody elses. All he is trying to do is get through the next month which from the lack of an announcement is tougher than he expected. The debt is too large. Anybody taking over GMG would have to payout the $4 Billion plus in debt held by the head company ala Oz Minerals.
With declining property values all round the world thats a big risk.
As well, all the other REIT's have their own problems without taking on GMG's problems.
Its not going to happen - not this year anyway.
