the bonus payment was simply a vote buying exercise. they could have spent the money on building ports, fast rail and roads, it would have provided a load of jobs, and become an income producing asset in the long term as it is they borrowed and have nothing to show for it, except a huge interest bill, for which they now pay interest on top of the interest bill...compounding the problem but what else do you expect from a pollie, living on govt salary all their lives, never having to work for a living, and all expenses paid on their behalf... just simple fools, that were voted into office, simply because voters thought they needed a change
