Another thumb from me Retiree and bulbuls. I have just been able to cash in a 'managed'fund, actually a fund of funds with a spread of world equities at various risk levels, that I foolishly started paying into twelve years ago in the mistaken assumption that these people know what they are doing.
The final result was no more than I would have got if I had invested my 350 quid a month in a bank at 2.5% interest. Notwithstanding the GFC this is a pathetic return and is all down to the creaming off of fees for doing precious little other than pick losers.
Beside that my investment in CDU looks like solid gold; and a damned sight more interesting. Hopefully I can turn that 12 years of waste into something better when Wayne gets his solid copper shovel out and digs up the first nugget.
